Polyaspartic polyurea is a new kind of synthetic material in polyurea industry in recent years. It has the characteristics of weather resistance, slow reaction, no solvent and high mechanical properties, and is called the third generation polyurea. The two components of Polyaspartic polyurea are polyaspartic polyurea resin and isocyanate hardener respectively. At present, the material has been widely applied and promoted in the field of coating, including fan blade coating, construction machinery coating, roof waterproof coating and high-end floor coating. The application of polyaspartic polyurea material in the adhesive field is one of the application directions we are focusing on.
The adhesion of polyurea to different substrates is very different. PVC, ABS, plain iron, wood, stone and glass bonding are relatively easy, while PP, PE, aluminum and stainless-steel substrate adhesion are relatively poor. It is necessary to improve the bonding properties through the optimization of the glue formulation.
Comparing with epoxy adhesive, polyaspartic adhesive has many obvious advantages. Under 5days of UVA test, Polyaspartic adhesive is resisted to yellowing but epoxy adhesive has already been yellowed. Due to no VOC, polyaspartic polyurea is acknowledged as a kind of environmentally friendly product. Additionally, polyaspartic adhesive has higher curing speed than epoxy adhesive which could lead to fast construction efficiency.
Polyaspartic polyurea is not a specific material, but a relatively large category of materials collectively. The performance span can be very wide, so polyaspartic polyurea products can be designed in a variety of directions. By selecting different polyaspartic polyurea resins and different isocyanate hardeners, we can obtain materials with various special properties and characteristics.
